the day to day

Slowing down and being more aware is something that took me a long time to master, it’s still a work in progress but I feel I’m getting there. We’re constantly on the go and seem to feel that we need to fill every moment with doing. Being able to recognize this is the first step to taking time for you and then prioritizing what is important.

There are a few day to day tips that I’d like to share that you may like to incorporate into your day, we are all different in terms of our constitution but these are things that can help everyone.

Starting your day with a glass of warm water, this helps to clear the channels and get things moving, a squeeze of lemon adds to the cleansing.

Throughout your day ensure that everything you eat and drink is room temperature. This eases the strain on your digestion.

Ensure that you are seated for your meals and there are no distractions. Enjoy your food, take time to prepare it and taste every delicious mouthful. Only eat when you are genuinely hungry, it takes up to 4 hours for a meal to be digested, listen to your body.

That takes us onto chewing, our stomachs don’t have teeth, help your digestion by doing the hard work before it reaches your stomach.

Include all 6 tastes, sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bitter and astringent in every meal, this ensures total satisfaction, it can be as simple as squeezing some lime onto a dish.

Include fresh fruit every day, try and eat what is in season and do ensure that you eat it alone, in terms of not with other foods. Fruit breaks down faster than other foods.

Incorporate some movement into your day, ideally outside and ensure it’s something you enjoy and can stick to, consistency is key.

I hope that you find these tips helpful, as with everything in life start small, notice the difference it makes and keep it up. Have a beautiful day.
