Hi, I’m SAMI

Sami

I reside on the south east coast of the UK. From a young age I have loved feeding others, in the literal sense but also through providing inspiration and guidance.

Growing up in a multi-cultural family (my Mother is from Iraq and my Father from Greece) food was and still remains a major part of our lives. It’s what brings us all together, I was lucky enough to have spent a large part of my childhood with Bebe (my maternal grandmother) days were spent ‘cleaning’ vegetables and preparing dishes that we cooked by eye, nothing was measured or weighed, I believe there is intuition with cooking and Bebe thankfully passed this wisdom onto Mum and her onto me.

There were many what I thought as a child quirky things Bebe would do, always drinking warm water, using turmeric on wounds to stop the bleeding, and sleeping with a blanket on her tummy when she was cold. She was led by her intuition and listened to her body; all food was cooked from scratch and was adapted when the seasons changed.

It is only since Ayurveda became a part of my life that I realized that she was living her life in line with many of the principles of this Vedic science.

My background is varied, a qualified gym instructor and beautician, I lived and worked abroad for many years’ organising weddings and events and cooking on retreats.

Inspired by my travels throughout India and Sri Lanka, I returned home with a deep passion for Ayurveda and a desire to further my knowledge. I went on to study under Dr. Deepa Apte at Ayurveda Pura, where I completed a Diploma in Diet and Lifestyle. I subsequently advanced my training with the Ayurveda Academy, earning a further qualification as a Lifestyle Advisor.
