Known as the corner stone of herbs in Ayurveda. Literally translated, Tri, 3, phala, fruits. The fruits being Amalaki that reduces pitta, Haritaki that reduces vata and Bibhitaki that reduces Kapha, therefore it is pacifying for all doshas.
All herbs have various properties, the Rasa or taste for Triphala is all 6 tastes, sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent. It’s effect or viraya is cooling and is post digestive effect or vipaka is sweet.
It is a strengthening and rejuvenating herb, it cleanses and nourishes the tissues and rids the body of Ama (toxins).
It can help to regulate your digestive system so good for constipation and bloating, nervous system imbalances and stress related conditions.
As with most herbs it can be taken after food, personally speaking I take mine before bed, 2 capsules with warm water.
Please do consult a professional before taking herbs as we are all individual and our bodies have differing constitutions. Herbs are not recommended during pregnancy as it is believed that the body does it’s own thing at this time.
