to me, its about finding balance.
2Nourish your body, eat what suits your individual constitution. Seasonal whole foods that are easy to digest, light and soothing, in Ayurveda these are classed as Sattvic foods and leave you feeling satisfied. These foods enhance Ojas (our inner essence of vitality) and ensure the nourishment of the dhatus (tissues). However, we also require Rajastic foods (that increase movement and activity) along with Tamasic foods at times when we have a feeling of restlessness in the body and mind. Give yourself the space and time to listen to your body and tune into what it needs.
2Nourish your mind, what we digest isn’t just about what we eat but also what we take in through the senses. What we see, hear, smell, taste and touch all have an impact on our minds. For me it’s getting out early in the morning, spending time in nature and allowing myself the time and space to tune in to how I am feeling at that moment and then nourishing myself accordingly.
2Nourish your soul, what or who makes your heart sing. Connecting with people or animals you love, taking the time to be with them is literally heart warming.
So what makes you feel nourished? x
